The Nordic Barn is an outdoor retail store specializing in hiking, biking and skiing. We were humbly established in 1995 with just 300 square feet of mostly cross country ski rentals. Today, The Nordic Barn is proud to offer 3000 square feet of high-end clothing and equipment for all types of outdoor enthusiasts.

The store is located in an iconic red barn built in 1893, at the end of a beautiful valley and only 3 miles from the ski slopes of Stowe Mountain Resort. This is one of a few remaining barns of its type in Vermont, and maybe the last one of its type that has remained continuously in use, much the way it was when it was built over 100 years ago. Inside the Nordic Barn is very cozy, with a wood stove, comfortable couches, and 5 levels of retail, rentals, and service.

The Nordic Barn is owned by Don and Anne Allen of Johnson VT.
